Ms. Yanbing Dong
My musical journey began when my parents discovered that I was able to play songs by ear after learning them at school when I was in kindergarten.
I loved piano lessons from the beginning and I never hated lessons. I rarely complained about practicing (you could say I was the perfect daughter ;)). I always find true joy when I'm playing piano. I believe music conjures all kinds of emotions in our hearts that complete one’s feelings as human beings. I want to share this most beautiful and charming thing on the planet with as many people as I can! To do that, I knew I had to learn more about teaching so during my graduate studies, I delve deeper into the teaching aspect of piano and trained in piano/group piano pedagogy courses. Through the process of developing my own improvisational teaching curriculum and teaching stye, I learned to focus my teaching on discovery learning and active learning. |
Outside of PianoOutside of my love for piano, I also love traveling (visiting art museums, historical sites, nature sceneries) and writing postcards to my friends.
I also love shopping for new items from interesting supermarkets and testing them out in my kitchen and stomach (followed by the necessary workout). Lastly, coffee-ing is breathing. |
