You hear the singing in the room, in front of the tv, and in the car. They constantly sing songs they recognize from their favorite movies and artists because they just have to, "Alexa, play (song they've been singing non-stop for the last month)!"

Aural SkillsAural skills is the super skill of our ears and how we train them!
This includes singing in pitch, matching pitch, singing on a different pitch from someone else and ending up in beautiful harmony - an experience best described like a bite of dark chocolate (real dark...like 95% cocoa dark). Listening is an important skill! In choir and in voice lessons, young singers learn about focused and active listening whether for the correct notes, rhythms or just simple directions from the choir teacher. |

Students get to work with others and pay close attention to what they are doing while learning to be responsible for what you are doing. Don’t get me wrong, solos are great! And there are lots of opportunities for solos in our Noteworthy Voices ensemble. But what makes a choir good, is how well each singer work together as a team towards one common goal- creating beautiful music! |
