Ms. Zoe
I am a violin and piano teacher passionate about sharing the beauty of music through high-quality instruction.
Guided by a heart for joy and excellence, I empower students to listen conscientiously and create enthusiastically.
My pedagogy incorporates standard Suzuki training with current research on learning, motivation, and injury prevention. I believe that every child has an innate creativity and the ability to produce a beautiful sound on their instrument.
My responsibility as an educator is to nurture their inquisitiveness, inspire their artistry, and build up their skillset for both music and life.
To attain this, I prioritize trust, honesty, efficiency, clear communication, positive habits, and a safe learning environment.

I have been coaching students through the struggles and triumphs of learning an instrument since 2018.
I served as violin instructor and chamber coach at Peace Music Academy in Khon Kaen, Thailand. I then taught violin and piano for the Berrien Springs Public Schools Virtual Academy while running a private studio in Berrien Springs, Michigan. I have been a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, receiving my Suzuki training from Edward Kreitman and Charles Krigbaum. I have also provided courses at summer music camps, teaching practice/performance strategies, group lessons, improvisation, and introduction to violin. Additionally, I initiated online violin workshop for kids as well as workshops on mental practice for musicians of all ages. In December 2023 I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in music and psychology from Andrews University, where I studied under the tutelage of Carla Trynchuk. I am currently working toward my Master of Music in violin performance, studying with Moni Simeonov at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music. Drawing from my background in both music and social science, I strive to apply principles of psychology to make learning music as engaging, understandable, and fulfilling as possible. |
