Musical beginning...
I was first introduced to music even before I was born—although no one in my family had a musical background, my parents had heard that classical music is beneficial for newborns, so they would turn on classical music all the time around the house growing up.
As a creative person, what drew me to piano was the way it could be used to express your creativity and share and encourage others with it. I had begged my mom to sign me up for a piano lesson at a young age, and I instantly fell in love with it.
Sure, practice times and consistency were always a challenge, but I loved the way I could express different emotions and personalities. It was as if through music I was adding more colors to my life and the lives of others around me.
Then, I had an opportunity to study with a special piano teacher of mine that we really formed a bond with, and I studied with her all the way until I had moved to university to pursue my piano performance degree.
I had received so much nurture and guidance, and I am thankful to be able to give back what I have received!
Why I teach music...
I believe that learning music can be both fun and consistent! My goal is to allow students to love what they do and enjoy playing music.
Learning music can be so rich and exciting, and it is also a chance to encourage and share with others. It is a balance of dedication, consistency, and discipline, as well as expressing your artistic side!
In my teaching, I strive to help students to be consistent and be the best they can be because improving in piano takes practice and patience. But it is also important to help students find fun and purpose in what they do.
I am eager to share performance tips, consistent ways of practice, fun games, and more!
