The beginning...My journey as a violinist started at a very young age. At 4 years old, I picked up the violin for the first time and didn’t look back.
With my music teacher at the time, I taught 2nd grade students during middle school as a teachers assistant. I learned so much about fun ways to teach violin and the different ways to teach! My love for music took me to the Orange County School of the Arts where I continued to grow in my technique and skills. I was given many opportunities to teach kids and nurture their passion for music. As part of the Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center (OCCTAC), I taught young students with various disabilities. Adjusting to their needs and teaching them was a challenge, yet taught me so much about adaptation and meeting the students needs alongside teaching music. With the Dragon Kim Foundation Music Program, we gave free lessons for the elementary school students around Santa Ana. I developed an 8- week teaching program for the student teachers and helped lead zoom sessions during the lockdown time. As a graduate from University of California Irvine, I continue to have a passion to learn both music and psychology to help kids grow in their passion for music. Using the skills and methods from my past experiences, I want to create a fun learning environment to encourage students to play music. Music is a way to express feelings and connect with others. I want to nurture my students and help them grow in their lives and with their music! |

Outside Music
When I’m not at the studio, you can usually find me at a local cafe, where I’m typically working on my latest art piece or diving into some coding.
I’m a big believer in staying connected, so my messages app is definitely my most-used tool—I love chatting and sharing ideas! My playlist is a bit of a mix, but I have a huge soft spot for the "Cafe 1930" duet by Astor Piazzolla. I’ve also always been fascinated by Shostakovich; I imagine he’d have some pretty wild stories to share over dinner! |
