The beginnings…
Before I could read, I was very eager to make music. I would create stringed instruments out of cardboard and elastic bands. Slapped my hands on the piano and always sang around the house. My parents weren’t musicians, but we consistently sang karaoke as a family. Celine Dion and Whitney Houston were probably my first voice teachers! Growing up, CD’s were constantly playing in my home, in the car, and I even listened to country music every night to sleep. Even our wall clock chimed The Carpenters every hour! Music has been everywhere all throughout my life. I craved to learn everything and anything about it. As I got older, I took formal piano lessons. My speciality was artistic expression: really emoting through the ivory keys. I’ve sang in choirs for 12 years, and I’ve been in numerous ensembles. I loved performing for piano recitals, orchestras, solo singing, and in choirs. And I am a HUGE choir nerd at heart. |
Why I Do What I Do

My lessons are not only catered to a student’s personal interests, but also to their aptitudes. I believe that the best way to learn is through play and individualized education.
I love getting to know my unique and curious students. Watching their “lightbulb go off” is extremely rewarding!
But most notably, I know how tough life can become.
During my own personal challenges, music has given me infinite joy. Through its use, we can express ourselves in indescribable, unique ways. I can tell stories on my own or with fellow musicians.
The power of music is healing and transformative; it ties humanity closer together.
I want to share that gift not only with an audience, but also with eager students.
In all areas, I help students develop healthy technique, confidence, and strong musicianship.
