The beginnings…
It all started on Christmas Eve when I was 5 years old, watching my grandmother play Christmas carols on the piano while my family and I sang.
I said to myself, “wow, I want to play the piano too!”
When I was 6 years old, my grandmother offered to give me piano lessons, and the rest was history. Since then, I took private lessons, performed in orchestras, bands, choirs, worship bands, and more.
Through teaching a couple private students in high school, I realized I loved introducing students to the world of music, helping them hone their musical skills, and develop a passion for music. Thus, I majored in Music Education so I could pursue teaching professionally.
While pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Music Education, I had the privileges of working as a peer tutor for music theory and musicianship courses, teach and coach orchestra, and teach private lessons in various music studios. I continued teaching private lessons while pursuing my master’s degree in Business Administration and managing my university’s music library.

Why I Do What I Do |
Managing the music library helped me discover my passion for working in the administrative side of music; I loved helping students and faculty succeed in music, not by teaching them, but by being able to point them toward the resources they need to do so.
I work to understand my students’ musical background, learning style, personality, and how they are feeling. As a teacher, I want to serve my students through investing time and effort into guiding them towards success.
Being an empathetic administrative staff means that I also work to understand the needs of the students, parents and staff that I serve students, parents and staff by working to provide them with the assistance they need in order to pursue their goals in music.
I believe that music is a universal language that helps us foster connections with those around us, regardless of our backgrounds, occupations, or differences. Music can be used for self-expression, to communicate a thought or a belief, or to prompt certain emotions in people.
I believe that music is a powerful art that has the potential to make a large impact in this world, its communities, and its people.
These are the reasons why I am passionate about teaching and working as an administrative staff member—I have the incredible opportunity to guide others towards making a positive impact in the world through music.
I understand first-hand the challenges of learning music, and I am passionate in helping other succeed in learning music.
