​Growing up, I have always loved music. I listened to and watched many recordings and live performances/concerts. I was so inspired by all these great musicians and their exquisite performances.  

​My dream as a child was to perform like a true musician.

It didn’t happen like a magical fairy tale: Four years of studying piano performance at National Sun Yat-Sen University in Taiwan. Two years of graduate studies in Piano performance at Boston University. Hours and hours of solitude practicing. 

Even though it was tough, sacrificing time hanging out and having fun with my friends and siblings… in the end, it was totally worth it.

Through the years, I have studied with many professional piano teachers, each of whom has influenced me in different aspects. My undergrad and grad school professors influenced me the most; they gave me freedom to interpret pieces which in turn developed my musical individuality. I thoroughly enjoyed studying with them.
 
When it comes to piano lessons, I want to create a fun environment for my students, so they will have enjoyable lessons while not feeling overwhelmed. Students will develop musical and technical skills needed to play the piano and create a firm foundation for future advanced lessons.

My goal is to build up their confidence with encouragement, and focus on what they want to achieve.

Life outside of piano!

I like playing the violin! (Yes, I love music, I said outside of "piano", not music :P) Besides piano, it's definitely my favorite instrument; I have been playing the violin for over 10 years. My favorite piece is Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major.  
 
I love watching movies - I am a big fan of Disney animated classics! Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite!! I also like movies that are based on true stories and books like The Blind Side, The Help and The Pianist.
