Hello FreshStart Community!

This is Michael - arts educator, administrator, and professional based out of the Southern California area. I am passionate about the arts and am passionate about spreading the undeniable joy that is music to the next generation. 

My background in music stems from my love of large-ensemble music. Growing up, I loved playing in band at school which led me to studying music performance at UC Irvine which I finished in 2017 with my Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance.

From there, I developed an affinity for conducting and decided to pursue my studies in Orchestral Conducting as I very much enjoy leading others in a collaborative environment.

In 2021, I graduated Summa Cum Laude at Azusa Pacific University with my Master of Music degree in Orchestral Conducting.

It is my commitment to the FreshStart community to leverage my experiences in the administrative and professional spaces to create an environment which promotes learning at the highest level while providing individualized experiences for our students that addresses their unique needs as they develop their skills.

Other Interests

Outside of FreshStart, I am Associate Director of Synesthesia Sinfonietta; Southern California’s emerging chamber orchestra where I conduct the orchestra and serve on the board.

When I’m not working, you can catch me spending time with friends, with my pet bunny, Piccolo, or spending time with my fiancé.

​Some of my favorite things that I like to spend my time doing outside of work include attending live concerts, catching an Angels game in the evening, and going to Disneyland for a meal, drink, and some rides.

I'm excited to be a part of the FreshStart community and look forward to leading the administrative team and teachers to ensure that our students are receiving positive mentorship, quality teaching, and being a part of an uplifting community!
