I remember my very first singing solo.

​I was in the 8th grade performing with my school’s glee club and I had not quite figured out how my voice was supposed to fit into the song I was given.

In rehearsal, I would start out fine - but then my voice would give up on me on the high notes!

And come on: the high notes are the best part.

But no one knew how to get me to sing it well, least of all me. So, naturally, when it was time for the performance, I missed the high notes. I was so embarrassed, but also stubborn. So I kept pursuing singing. 

After a few years, and many more embarrassing performances, I finally found a voice teacher.

She taught me to only sing things within my range, and only songs that were important to me. With her guidance, I won my first competitions and scholarships, and those led to me getting into college for singing.

My life was completely changed because of the environment she gave me to learn and gain confidence.

I have a Bachelors degree in Opera Performance from Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB, and I also work as a professional opera singer. My students have ranged from ages 4 to 81 in the genres of pop, soul, musical theater, gospel, and classical.

Why Teach?

​My primary teaching goal is making sure that your student is happy with the way they sing.

We work on finding a reliable, sustainable process for them to produce a sound that they enjoy. I also encourage students to always, always give their very best at everything they do.

Music is the most profound and powerful method of communication that humans can engage with. It builds community, culture, and expresses emotions in a completely unique way.

This is particularly true of singing because the voice can combine music with words.

The ability move people by singing is powerful. That’s why we turn to music when we’re down, frustrated, celebrating, cleaning, driving, or just enjoying a peaceful day. 

Being the singer - the one communicating - is such a rewarding experience. It’s also extremely liberating to be able to express yourself in performance.

It is my absolute joy to help students cultivate this ability and freedom. 

Outside Music

When I’m not singing, teaching singing, or studying singing (which is rarely), I love to watch movies and TV shows! Sci-fi, fantasies, and dramas are my favorites! 

I also serve regularly at my church in Corona and love ice cream!
